To celebrate the success of the Americas Cup
in 2007 we have created a unique corporate sailing event designed
to offer the thrills and spills of high drama yacht racing
and close competition, all in a single day!
This
is a new concept for water based hospitality and team building
events as it offers many things in one day; the hospitality
of the luxury motor cruiser as “mother ship” while
the teams watches their rivals race, the excitement of match
racing and the thrill of the high speed RIB’s. After
a thrilling finale on the water the boats return to land where
a champagne prize giving will take place.

Each
race team is made up of 6 to 8 guests and each team
will be rotated from the mothership to the racing yachts
throughout the day as we go through the knockout competition.
Each team will have a brief race training session followed
by a round of racing. The races will be short windward/leeward
courses lasting no more than 30 minutes each. Onboard
the mothership will be our own commentator to provide
a running commentary of the racing. We provide 10 additional
places for spectators that do not wish to take part
in the racing.
This
unique sailing event format is designed to give guests
the experience of sailing their yacht in a close, competitive
match racing environment where the tactics at the start
are all important. It has been designed to cater for
all ages and abilities and sailing experience is not
required.
The
Boats
EMG use a number of different types of boat for this
event, each individually selected to optimise the experience.
All are commercially licensed, in excellent condition
and of the highest quality. Along with the racing yachts
you are also provided with a 5 star luxury motor cruiser
capable of taking up to 40 guests. Also on hand will
be our support vessel which will transfer you to and
from the Mothership throughout the day.
The
Crew
One of the most important elements of the day is your
skipper and crew, EMG prides itself on the quality of
its staff and only uses hand selected and fully qualified
skippers and crew. All our staff are personable, well
presented, courteous and understand how to make your
day a real success. We operate with a minimum of a skipper
and one crew on each boat, this provides a higher level
of safety and comfort and really allows your crew to
get the most out of the day.
